Atalaya
The nearest golf course is Atalaya. This golf club opened in 1968 and has two golf courses. The original eighteen-hole course was created by Bernhard von Limburger. It includes elevated greens and fast-running fairways littered with difficult bunkers. Players of all abilities love playing this challenging course. The second eighteen-hole course was designed in 1990 by Paul Krings. It is often considered the more difficult course and requires accurate play. There are wonderful views towards Gibraltar and the Mediterranean Sea. The course features natural hills and an ancient woodland of cork oak trees where you often see local wildlife.

Gualdamina
In the 1930s, Norberto Goizueta farmed the land, but in 1959, he decided to develop it into a golf course. The South Course features the original set of eighteen holes. Experienced players love the difficult challenges of the parkland course. It includes narrow fairways surrounded by dense woodland. You’ll need to play your most accurate shots. The North Course was created in 1973. It has a shorter total length and is suitable for beginners and professional players. The terrain features many steep climbs, lakes and patches of rough grass. The club is famous for its practice areas and golf school. Gualdamina was chosen as the venue for the Spanish Championship in 1989.

Los Arqueros
This beautiful, eighteen-hole golf course is just a short drive from Benahavis. It was designed by the talented professional golfer, Severiano Ballesteros, in 1991. The parkland course is 5,700 metres in length. It blends perfectly with the rugged terrain of the surrounding mountainous landscape. There is a great variety at each hole. There are elevated tees, narrow fairways, streams and hills. Sand bunkers appear where you least expect them. Los Arqueros provides challenging play for every player. Hole number six is often regarded as the most difficult of all as it requires a great deal of accuracy from the tee. As you play, you’ll be amazed at the panoramic views of the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea.

El Higueral
El Higueral is one of the newest golf courses in Benahavis. It opened in 2009 as a nine-hole course. It is noted for being very picturesque with incredible mountain and sea views. Nearby is the beautiful scenery of the Guadalmina River. Many golfers adore the sleek, well-maintained greens that offer fast play. Many of the holes feature artificial lakes. Each of the nine holes offer unique difficulties to test your golfing skills. Hole number two borders a steep ravine. Hole number four features a sharp downhill turn that often frustrates many top players. El Higueral is one of the most popular nine-hole courses in Golf Valley. However, there are plans to extend the course to eighteen holes in the near future.
